Matt Forney is the Executive Director of Ennovar Technology Solutions at Wichita State University, bringing over 35 years of experience in business and education to the role. His passion lies in creating lasting and positive outcomes for both students and partners through the applied learning model and strategic partnerships. Matt is recognized as an "out of the box" thinker, capable of defining and managing global strategies, and is adept at developing and hiring high-end talent to collaborate with key investors and partners.
In 2015 Matt was hired as “the Founder of Ennovar”, where his foresight and drive took Ennovar from 10 employees to over 340 in just 10 years. He is an analytical problem solver with the ability to drive strategic projects while managing competing priorities, deadlines, and financial goals. He has founded multiple entities and served in executive roles building hardware and software for enterprise customers.
His drive in creating founding partnerships has provided students—with no prior experience— paid hands-on learning opportunities and flexible scheduling in various technical fields. These initiatives not only enhance students' technical skills but also improve their soft skills and industry readiness, often leading to higher-level training opportunities and full-time job placements. Due to his leadership, Ennovar has been recognized around the country as the premier applied learning model.
